OceanShield - The Answer to Oil Spills?
Updated: Dec 3, 2019
The 29th of October was the start for Ultimate Group to enter the Saudi Arabian market with the introduction of OceanShields at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh.
Giga tourism projects like the Red Sea Project, which plan to become the most sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism project in the world will change the face of Saudi Arabia forever. It is expected to attract one million people every year. Upon completion, the project will create 70,000 new jobs. The Red Sea project is planned to add $5.9 billion to the Saudi gross domestic product and has the size of Belgium. At the same time, 70km offshore are cruising supertankers who transport millions of barrels of oil. An accident or terror attack, similar to the attack on the Iranian oil tanker a few weeks ago, not far from the red sea project, could destroy the natural islands, coral reefs, and shorelines, and such a project would be in huge danger.
Saudi Arabia plans to become the worlds most sustainable country in the world. A very ambitious vision. To protect such plans highly advanced technologies like OceanShields could take place to protect the natural islands, shorelines and beaches from oil spills which crates the biggest threat in the region.
Saudi Arabia is one of the biggest oil producers in the world and super tankers cruise in the red sea 365 days a year. It will be of huge responsibility to use technologies which are able to protect the environment at its highest standards.
